Politician and Parliament member Asot Michael was born in 1969 in the town of Guadalupe in the French West Indies. He was into a family that had an active hand in politics. The late Partick Michael, his father, helped the Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party in the 1970s during its heaviest struggles. The honorable Asot Michael went as far as to sacrifice his livelihood in support of the party. The generation of Michaels is well known for their great impacts in transforming the country’s social and economic status.
The honorable politician Asot Michael attended the St. Joseph’s academy, where he received his high school diploma in 1986. He then went to the 0 level Cambridge GCE and successfully got his certificate. After that, he went to Barry University and graduated in 1989 in business administration with full honors. He then attended the University of Miami, getting his Master of Business Administration degree in 1991. While in the United States, Asot Michael received many prestigious acknowledgments and prizes for his academic skill.
His political career took root when he was appointed as the chief of staff in the prime minister’s office from 1997 t0 2000. In 1999, he was appointed as a senator in Antigua & Barbuda in the upper house of parliament. He went on to receive an appointment to the office of the minister of public works in 2001. In 2003, he served as the leader of government business in the senate of Antigua and Barbuda. Asot Michael has a deep passion for politics and for bettering the lives of the people he serves.
