In the late 1990s, Austin developed two new communities in Georgetown and Pflugerville and a combination of 650 sites, which he later sold to the Nation’s most giant MH Real Investment Trust after its completion.
The early group of business owners, engineers, architects, and interested individuals forged many ideas entrenched in the current City of Round Rock revitalization project.
Austin later purchased his new home office on the Main Street in Historic Downtown R. Rock in 1997. The renowned investor purchased 118 East Main Street in 1999 and developed Main Street Grill Restaurant (MSG).
He then developed an intense passion for restoring the Historic area and became the President of the downtown Business Owners Association.
Lewis prides himself in taking care of his people.
He advises other business leaders to consider the importance of employee morale and the challenges their employees face.
He adds that nothing beats the physical and mental health of your employees.
Kip Lewis also insinuates that even small steps like recognizing your employees’ successes, checking in to see how your employees are doing in times of stress, and encouraging a work-life balance make a big difference.
According to Lewis, mentally burnt-out employees are not productive and are less likely to work with the business for long.
Additionally, learning to do more with less, excellent communication & continuity matter, planning ahead, and having multiple revenue streams are among the best business lessons that Lewis passes on from 2020.
